I will be entering this contest also, almost got my first entry ready. Can we maybe introduce new features to the killboard? I seen something in one that would be cool to see in this new template im making.

Its more of a redesign. This doesn't have many changes, its mostly about simple changes in info that might turn a KB to a more interesting website to visit. (and the color is also a improvment :P since you dont have a lighter/white KB template atm).

This is an extremely flexible design in terms of appearance. In theory there could be endless images for the background and you'll still never get tired of the design. This design has an advantage since you can change the background from month-to-month and still everything would feel "fresh". The process is a bit complex, but definitely doable.
The CSS can be changed to match the background, that's it. The other graphics (the glass buttons) will take care of themselves (adapting to the background).
Looks really ... Win Vista... quite pleasent to look at, but i dont think this possible to implement without huge sized image files (.png (transparency) and large .jpg (image backgrounds)) would take a while to load that website from fresh. Though the Vista layout looks really nice.
